How to Choose Address Sign Colours for Your Home
Colour is one of the first things people notice about an address sign, but the best choice is not simply the colour you like most on its own. A sign needs to work with the garage door, front door, brick, siding, trim and other finishes already on the home. It also needs enough visual contrast for the address to be easy to recognize.
Start with the surface behind the sign
Look first at the exact surface where the sign will be installed. A colour combination that looks strong against pale siding may disappear against a darker garage door. If the installation surface has several tones or a strong texture, choose a sign treatment that remains visually distinct instead of blending into the background.

Use contrast to keep the address clear
Contrast is especially important when the sign needs to be noticed from the driveway or street. Dark-on-light and light-on-dark combinations usually create a clearer separation than two finishes that are very similar in value. Coordinate with existing exterior details
Look at the permanent or long-lasting elements already on the home: window frames, door hardware, railings, light fixtures, trim and garage-door colour. Repeating or complementing one of those finishes can make the address sign feel intentional rather than added afterward.
